Research Projects, Coventry University Coventry

After years of successful refurbishment projects in buildings across the Coventry University Campus such as Alma, Alan Berry and Whitefriars, we have returned with a project in the business park on Puma Way.

We have conducted works in five buildings of the high-technology business park: two buildings from the Innovation Village (IV5 and IV10), The Institute for Creative Enterprise (ICE), Health Design and Technology Institute (HDTI) and Design Hub.

Coventry University Technology Park (CUTP) was created to encourage and support the start-up and development of innovation-led, high-growth, knowledge-based businesses. To support these businesses CUTP decided it would be beneficial to upgrade existing buildings to the latest standards.

The refurbishment works included upgraded M&E systems, refurbished buildings for incoming tenants, and upgraded locking systems. The new chosen fittings were of a high quality and more durable, which contributes to a longer lasting usage of the facilities.

We implemented a phased approach for our construction plan, with works on four buildings starting in December, and those at the Design Hub in April. To add to the complexity of this, all works were undertaken during the COVID-19 pandemic so we created a one-way system across all sites to minimise the impact on the building users who remained on site.

We maintained an excellent working relationship with the project management team chosen by our client, The Eliot Partnership, whom we’ve worked with before in our previous project on the campus.
