Holland and Barrett HQ, Nuneaton

A £7.5 million Nuneaton headquarters for Holland & Barrett.

Work on a new £7.5 million Nuneaton headquarters for Holland & Barrett is moving at a very healthy pace and was given a helping hand by a local political figure.

The Deeley Group is developing the new 35,000 sq ft offices for the national health product retailer at Eliot Business Park, close to the George Eliot Hospital.

Marcus Jones, the new MP for Nuneaton, was invited along to see how work was progressing on the new building and to help perform a ‘topping-out’ ceremony – a construction industry tradition when a building reaches its highest point.

Holland & Barrett – which has 600 stores in the UK and franchises across the world – is set to move to the new office later this year, leaving behind its current base in Attleborough Fields.

The relocation will see 125 staff relocated with further jobs expected to be created thanks to the move.

Jones said: “It’s been a very busy few weeks on a personal level and it’s a great privilege to be here at what is a very important development for Nuneaton.

“Holland & Barrett is an international brand and it is a great feather in Nuneaton’s cap that they are based here and also that there was an opportunity to expand here.

“This is a fantastic location for a business to be based and we are delighted to see Holland & Barrett moving here and remaining in the town.”

Roger Craddock, of Holland & Barrett, said the relocation was a positive step for the company.

He said: “It was always our desire to remain in Nuneaton and Eliot Park gave us the opportunity to do that.

“It is fantastic to see the development taking shape and we are very much looking forward to making this our future home.”

Peter Deeley, chairman of the Deeley Group, said his company was proud of its achievements in Nuneaton, particularly in the area close the A444 – which provides strong regional and national links.

He said: “We have done a great deal of work regenerating this area of the town and this new headquarters for Holland & Barrett is a significant part of that.

“We have also created smaller office units at Eliot Court, many of which have been taken up by smaller businesses and organisations.

“Our commitment to creating high quality working environments has helped to attract companies here and there are still opportunities for businesses to make Eliot Park their home.”
