Final property sold at Oakham Grange development
Deeley Homes believes new life may be coming back into the market after selling out a scheme in the West Midlands.
Deeley Homes created 12 outstanding three and four-bedroom homes at its Oakham Grange development in Tividale, near Oldbury and the final property has just been sold.
Lisa Bennett, the sales and marketing manager for Deeley Homes, said selling out the scheme had taken longer than anticipated when it first got underway in 2007.
But she believes the rising interest which led to the final properties being snapped up has shown the new homes market could be picking up.
Lisa said: “We got off to a very good start at Oakham Grange when the development first launched and we staved off the effects of the credit crunch early on.
“But in the final few months of 2008 it was difficult to avoid the problem particularly as many people found it harder to get mortgage finance.
“That problem has certainly not gone away but it does appear that it has eased somewhat in the last month or so.
“Also, homebuyers seem more determined to take the plunge now rather than holding off, especially when they are more confident that a property will hold its value.”
