This regeneration scheme will help Orbit Homes achieve its ‘2020 vision’ and provide affordable living to local residents
Orbit Homes ‘2020 Project’ has the objective to deliver 12,000 new homes by 2020 and enhance the communities they work within. Union Park is another example of where Deeley Group has delivered to help meet its clients requirements.
Working in partnership with Orbit Homes and our appointed architects Robothams, we were able to take this scheme through the planning process and provide a development to meet their budget and housing specification requirements.
The site had a number of empty factory units from the Soans Ford Car dealership which had operated there since the 1960s. By providing a housing solution, this site will now be fully utilised.
The development consists of 92 affordable homes (53 rent / 39 shared) and 55 for low-cost sale.
By working with the Council and our environmental consultants, the new housing incorporates noise reduction features which will mitigate the impact of the existing local businesses on the development as well as to help the
future residents of Union Park.
In homage to the history of the site, the road names were given Ford car references such as Anglia Gardens and Corsair Close.
The development was recognised in the following awards:
- RICS West Midlands Awards 2019 – Regeneration & Residential Categories
- NFB National Site Awards 2019 – House Builder of the Year
- Insider Media – Residential Property Awards 2019 – Residential Development of the Year
