The redevelopment of a former miners’ welfare club site has brought much needed affordable and shared-ownership housing for families in need and first time buyers
Deeley Construction has provided construction services for 42 affordable family homes on the former Miners Welfare Club site.
The development consists of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom family homes, 20 of which are for shared ownership and shared equity. The remaining 22 for rent.
The development has been supported by the Homes and Communities Agency through their affordable housing programme with the aim of regenerating the area. Further to this we hired young apprentices to help them gain invaluable construction industry experience.
Together with the regeneration of the area, the client also required the site to be completed in a relatively short timescale.
Deeley Construction as always ensures quality through rigorous inspection and testing.
Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes was achieved by low energy light fittings, heat recovery ventilation and the houses were built to Lifetime Homes standards.
